Tide Counselling offers general counselling for individuals. We work collaboratively to equip people to handle the challenges of day to day life. And to work through strategies to assist with ways to lessen the impact of depression and anxiety.
Why attend counselling sessions?
The current pace of life can mean we experience life at a heightened state. Having counselling can help build protective strategies and work through everyday issues and most importantly bring our anxiety and stress levels back to a more balanced state. Life will always have its ebbs and flows. However, at certain times in all our lives we require extra support. Support can be found in many forms: a good friend, a close family member, engaging in activities that bring us joy or seeking professional support.
How can general counselling services help?
We subscribe to the notion that each person has the knowledge and strength inside them to create a mentally healthier life for themselves. However, at times may need extra support to gain better clarity to put those solutions into place. This is where attending counselling can be beneficial. You don’t need to be diagnosed with a mental health issue to reach out for assistance. Attending counselling can simply assist with getting your life on the path you desire. You needn’t reach a personal crisis to reach out for help. Dedicating time to meet with a counsellor and talk through your concerns, challenges and anxieties can help you get back on track.
How do I choose a counsellor?
Research has shown that the importance of therapeutic relationship itself can greatly impact on the outcomes of therapy. It is therefore important to find a therapist you feel comfortable and at ease with. Believing in the process of therapy and believing in your therapist will contribute to a successful client experience.
As well as finding the right fit for you it is also important that your counsellor is registered with a relevant governing body. This ensures your counsellor is adhering to guidelines around further training, supervision and a code of ethics. Tara, from Tide Counselling is registered with the Australian Counselling Association.
Learning to live relationally
What do we mean we talk about living relationally?
Many studies in the field have identified that the quality of our relationships greatly impact on our overall happiness in life. If our closest relationships are strained this can impact on our overall level of satisfaction and happiness in life. Whether it be an intimate relationship, a parent-child relationship, or a significant friend. When these relationships are out of balance and fractured we can feel lonely, depressed or anxious. Furthermore, you could experience feelings of anger, sadness, disappointment, guilt or jealousy. All these feelings are normal. Nevertheless, when they become detrimental to your mental well being it can be beneficial to seek support. Click here to contact us.
